ABOUT
THE ARCHITECT
Richard Meier received his architectural training at
Cornwell University and established his office in New York in 1963. His practice
has included major civic commissions including courthouses and city halls in the
United States and Europe; museums; corporate headquarters; housing and private
residences.
Among his most well-known projects are The Getty Center in Los
Angeles, The High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia; the Museum of Applied Arts
in Frankfurt, Germany; the Canal + Headquarters in Paris, France; and the Museum
of Contemporary Art in Barcelona, Spain.
This attention to design comes at an important
time: An increasingly crowded America needs striking architecture to offset the
density of new developments.
For the first time, world celebrated architect
Richard Meier is bringing his signature art to Florida with a glass residential
building on the famed Miami coastline. Many buyers like the idea of having such
''art'' as part of their new address.
Planned to be set on the former site of
the Beach House Hotel, the Meier condominium at 9449 Collins Avenue will be an
oasis of calm and exclusivity, only a stone’s throw away from both the renowned
Bal Harbour shops and the vibrant South Beach restaurant and nightlife scene.
Meier's stylish glassy Perry Street
Condominium Towers in New York, helped start the 'name' condo trend.
Pre-Sales began in May of 2005. Completion is scheduled for winter 2007.
